Prof Deandre J. Poole, Florida Atlantic Univ Makes Students ‘Stomp On Jesus’

Mass suicide bombings expected from outraged Jesus types…

poole(Fox) – A Florida Atlantic University student said he was punished after he refused a professor’s directive to stomp on a piece of paper with the word “Jesus” written on it. The university, meanwhile, is defending the assignment as a lesson in debate.

“I’m not going to be sitting in a class having my religious rights desecrated,” student Ryan Rotela told television station WPEC. “I truly see this as I’m being punished.”

Rotela, who is a devout Mormon, said the instructor in his Intercultural Communications class told the students to write the name “Jesus” on a sheet of paper. Then, they were told to put the paper on the floor.

“He had us all stand up and he said ‘Stomp on it,’” Rotela said. “I picked up the paper from the floor and put it right back on the table.

The young college student told the instructor, Deandre Poole, that the assignment was insulting and offensive.

“I said to the professor, ‘With all due respect to your authority as a professor, I do not believe what you told us to do was appropriate,’” Rotela said. ‘I believe it was unprofessional and I was deeply offended by what you told me to do.’”

Rotela took his concerns to Poole’s supervisor – where he was promptly suspended from the class.

Poole did not return calls seeking comment.

According to his university profile, he has a PhD from Howard University and is authoring a book titled, “Obamamania: The Rise of a Mythical Hero.”

A university spokesperson told they could not comment about Rotela’s case due to student privacy laws.

However, the university is defending the instructor’s assignment to stomp on the name of Jesus.

Douchebag Poole was asked why he didn’t also have students write the names Muhammed, Obama, MLK, Trayvon, or Sharpton on paper and then do a little stompy stomp.  He replied, ‘you must be crazy, that would be disrespectful and racist.’

The parents paying for their children’s education at Florida Atlantic University were asked how they felt about the days lesson.  The vast majority said that they would wait to see if the White House (Obama) issued a thought edict.  The ones who did not approve are obviously racist and the IRS has been notified…

UPDATE: Welcome Reddit minion, we often finish up a factual story with over the top ridiculousness to make a valid point.

It’s metaphorical honey. Jesus was not a piece of paper or this could be considered blasphemy. But why would you care? You eat Jesus at church. Bunch of damn cannibals.

      • Whoopie

I don’t eat nothing at church Mark, I’m an atheist, yet even I find stories like this disgusting. Hey, why not stomp on the name of Mohammed or even Obama? The only metaphor here was anti-Christian.

        • Mark

So stomping metaphorically is bad but eating metaphorically is good? Your atheism isn’t helping, you should join Westboro Baptist. I hear they’re really well liked by people who would be offended by this…

          • Buffoon

Your missing the point dumb dumb… why not write Obama or Muhammed? Why is it so easy for these leftist to crap on christians and not the gods of the left?

      • Veritas

Mark, obviously you believe in nothing. So I can understand why you can believe in anything. You represent the levels our society have slide to. And with more progressives we have a long way to go.

This professor is such a coward. If he were a man he would have stomped on the name Allah. But he is like Mark, a hypocrite and a wuss.

        • Mark

So not buying into your fantasy = not believing in anything? And rejection of your fairy tale is a slide down some unperceived levels you have dreamt up to place yourself on a pedestal? The real world is significantly more perplex and awe inspiring than some 2000 year old book written by uneducated nomads. It saddens me that Christians need the threat of eternal hell in order to act morally and you’re even failing at that.

          • Whoopie

So what’s your opinion of Islam? Why is it always about Christianity when as religions go, Xtianity is fairly benign?

As an atheist who’s outgrown the youthful exuberance of wanting to change the world, all I can say is that atheism is NOT a cause for activism. It’s just a state of mind. You can’t force people not to believe, so give it up, you’re giving atheism a bad name by making a pest of yourself.

Harassing people is no way to promote your point of view. Instead, show the world that you don’t need a metaphysical threat or reward to be a decent, moral person. Part of being decent, moral and ethical is learning to live and let live. Mankind may come around to our way of thinking in it’s own good time but not before.

Humans must evolve to that state on their own, they can’t be dragged to it against their will. Accept the fact that you will not live to see that day, nor will your great, great grandchildren. But trust that it will happen in the fullness of time and you’ll be a happier, less angry and resentful person.

I am amazed at the ‘long suffering’ my Lord and my G-d have for people who attack Him and His Son. I have to admit that I too for many years ran from the Lord, blasphemed, etc. I’m so glad that Hashem kept me alive to lead me to the truth that He is G-d, His Son Yeshua/Jesus is the Messiah.
As for this pretend, false teacher of lower learning, let him entertain himself, all by himself. I believe in the power of the blood of Yeshua, the power the Holy Spirit of G-d and in the prophetic command that one day, everyone, no matter who you are, a believer or not, one day, every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Yeshua/Jesus is Lord to the glory of G-d the Father.
If this Satan-filled professor desires to continue his lies, it’s only from making a deal with the father of lies that he is where he is in his life.
So if you want to stop this professor, put his name on your prayer list, love him, pray for G-d to do in this man’s life as you desire G-d to do in your life.
This Prof. Poole is not to be hated. The Bible says the best way to deal with this is when HIS people return to Him first, then He/G-d will hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land.
Dear Professor Poole, in the name of Yeshua/Jesus the Messiah, I love you and will bring your name before the Throne of Grace.
