lying to americaRather than negeotiate with Congress President Obama has continued his modus operandi of leading from the rear by refusing to work with the Republicans to work out a compromise to stay off his Sequester.  Instead he has gone to his usual Kabuki Theater by inviting Emergency workers to a “video op” and then castigating the straw-man, whipping-boy the Republicans and enumerating the “devastating” affects that might occur if the Little Emperor doesn’t get his tax increases.   The list is as follows:

    “people will lose their jobs”

“fewer police and firefighters on the streets, reduced military readiness, less border security, and criminals going free because federal prosecutors will have to close cases.”

“Air traffic controllers and airport security will see cutbacks, which means more delays at airports across the country,”

“Thousands of teachers and educators will be laid off. Tens of thousands of parents will have to scramble to find child care for their kids. Hundreds of thousands of Americans will lose access to primary care and preventive care like flu vaccinations and cancer screenings.”

“If Congress allows this meat-cleaver approach to take place, it will jeopardize our military readiness, it will eviscerate job-creating investments in education and energy and medical research, it won’t consider whether we’re cutting some bloated program that has outlived its usefulness or a vital service that Americans depend on every single day,”

Of course he forgot to mention his usual “pollute the air and water or push granny over the cliff.

He’s playing a dangerous game. What if the sequestration goes into effect and all the horrors he predicts don’t come to pass? People might finally realize that we can afford to cut government.

One other point, fire fighters, paramedics, cops and teachers aren’t federal employees. Cuts to the federal regime wouldn’t affect them one bit.

Personally, I wouldn’t give a crap if every employee of the FBI, DEA, ATF, TSA and coffee slurping bureaucrat gets laid off permanently.
