A recently published study in the Journal of Public Economics concludes that the attractiveness of a candidate does correlate with their politics. They find that politicians on the right are more good looking in Europe, the United States and Australia.
The researchers also offer a more general psychological explanation for the trend: That good-looking people are often treated better than others, and thus see the world as a more just place. Past studies have found that the more attractive people believe themselves to be, the lower their preference for egalitarianism, a value typically associated with the political left.
Anyone who’s ever compared the talking heads on FoxNews to those on MSNBC has to agree, people with a Left-wing slant are physically unattractive.
Now some would say that FoxNews spared no expense shopping for ‘hotties’ but then why couldn’t MSNBC do the same? How did they end up with a stable full of ugly nags?
I’ve always believed that those on the Left were most likely bullied in school. If you look awkward and ungainly, you’ll be picked on. And that being the butt of cruel humor during those formative years tends to color your outlook later in life.
Leftists also have low self esteem. Self loathing leads to poor hygiene, grooming and bad fashion choices. Karl Marx was often criticized for his body odor and his ratty appearance as has Hillary.
And it goes without saying that both mental health professionals and police judge a person’s mental condition based on physical appearance. A Bureau of Prisons document lists personal hygiene, grooming and whether the inmate keeps his cell clean and orderly as criteria when assessing a prisoner for early release.
The bottom line is that those on the Left are, generally speaking, not mentally sound.
I realize that won’t come as much of a shock to those on the Right, but the problem is convincing those on the Left that they need help, considering the fact that in their delusional state, they fancy themselves smarter, more cultured and sophisticated than the rest of us.
It’s a daunting challenge that would be made all the easier if only we could euthanize the poor fools. If we wouldn’t hesitate to put a suffering animal out of it’s misery, don’t we owe these people the same level of compassion?
